We’ve all watched Kid President’s infamous pep talk. If you haven’t, it definitely is a much watch. This is an incredibly smart 10-year-old who came out with one of the most inspiring videos of our time, which basically tells the world to “stop being boring” and encourages us to be “gooder than that”. Sometimes the world needs a kid to open our eyes for us and show us that we’re all on the same team. And now the witty Kid President is back again – inspiring, engaging, and reminding the world to be on the path that leads to awesome.
This time, Kid President is looking at some of the disgraceful ways in which we use the Internet. It really is a slap in the face to hear these words coming from a 10-year-old when it really should be us – the older, supposedly wiser ones – who are recognising these fundamental flaws with our society. Kid President is determined to reclaim the Internet and put it to good use for a change. And so the world is introduced to… Socktober!
With 600,000 people living on the streets of the United States this winter, Kid President asks Internet users to participate in an act of love and kindness and serve the homeless in your neighbourhood – even if it’s just the small act of donating a pair of socks to your nearest homeless shelter. Instead of using our time trolling the Internet for the latest celebrity gossip, let’s take a word of advice from this very adorable and intelligent kid and use the Internet to keep a homeless person warm this winter.
Watch the video, participate in #Socktober, spread the word, and let’s give the world a reason to dance.
