The Struggles Of A War Veteran

Veterans volunteered to risk their lives to keep civilians safe and to defend them. As you’re reading this article, there are 300,000 homeless veterans sleeping on the street in America and this number is increasing at an alarming rate.

Over 1.4 million veterans are at the risk of becoming homeless. A homeless veteran spends six years of his life on streets. More than 67% of the homeless veterans spent at least 3 years serving their country. They gave everything they had and yet we are failing them.

While you’re reading this, a soldier somewhere doesn’t understand why he is being discarded so easily and yet he fights on. The divorce rate among the military couples has increased by 42%. An estimated 460,000 veterans suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder -PTSD. A veteran doesn’t understand why his sacrifice went unappreciated. The veteran administration have resources to serve only a fraction of the veterans.

By the time you have read this article, a veteran will have taken his own life. 5000 veterans commit suicide every year. That’s one veteran per two hours.

The ones that love you the most are the ones willing to fight for you.
