Today, December 2nd, is the International Day for the Abolition of Slavery. It is estimated that 27 million women, men and children are trapped in slavery all over the world.

For the past two years, photographer Lisa Kristine has traveled the world, documenting the unbearably harsh realities of modern-day slavery.
