WATCH: Taking a Look at Brazil Without Makeup

With both the World Cup and the Olympics looming, all eyes are turning towards Brazil. The Closing Ceremony of the London Olympics showed a bright, diverse, and eager city ready to welcome the world.

The video below was created by Brazilian LGBT activist @Rafucko, as part of his new initiative “Brazil Without Makeup” which aims to offer “an insider and non-dazzled look on Brazilian culture, including this “other side”, to people who are interested in knowing the country beyond the stereotypes and the beautiful beaches.”

The video definitely makes for interesting viewing, and the concept of looking at a city “without makeup” would certainly translate well to other major cities around the world. We often get caught up in the spectacle…just look at the Beijing Olympics…
