The Power of Vaccines [Infographic]

Every 20 seconds a child dies from a vaccine preventable disease. That’s over 1.5 million children a year.

Today marks the beginning of World Immunisation Week. an initiative run by the United Nations Foundation to raise awarness of the 1 in 5 children around the world who lack access to life-saving vaccines. These are vaccines that are readily available, and are the most cost-effective way to save the lives of children in developing countries. Around the world, some mothers walk over 15 miles to get life-saving vaccinations for their children.

The infographic below shows the startling statistics, and tells you more about a campaign to give children, no matter where they’re from, access to the vaccinations that will help them live a long and healthy life.
