Pop icon Ellie Goulding has released her single “I Know You Care” in support of Syria’s children – children who have watched their peers die, children who are starving, children who have been forced to flee their homes, leaving their entire lives behind at the hands of the country’s brutal civil war that has now entered its third year.
While the international community debates action on how to end the conflict that affected millions already, Save The Children recognise the need to stop waiting for peace and engage in providing some sort of safe haven to the children of this war.
With 7,000 children dead since the beginning of the uprising and 2 million children in urgent need of food, the situation is dire. War Child reported that children in Syria, some younger than 10, are captured in detention centres throughout the country and are being ill-treated and tortured. The same children are also being denied education due to the destruction of their schools during the war.
The release of Ellie Goulding’s single hopes to help further action for Syria’s children. All proceeds raised from the track will be donated to Save The Children’s Syria Appeal and will directly impact lives on the ground. You can play your part by purchasing the song and sharing the video as much as possible. The music video features striking images of children who are too young, too innocent and too vulnerable to be caught up in such horrors of war. Every new image in the I Know You Care video will make you realise how impossible it is for anyone not to care.
